Class A Vehicles
Class A truck– Any combination of vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds (11,793 kg) provided the GVWR of the vehicle(s) being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds (4536 kg).
A few examples of the vehicles you MAY be able to drive with a Class A CDL
(with proper endorsements) include:​

If the vehicle you test in is an Automatic transmission, your CDL will have that restriction and you will not be licensed to drive a manual transmission:

E = No manual transmission equipped CMV
"Skills test taken in a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission.​"
If the vehicle you test in has a pintle hook connection, you will have that restriction and you will not be licensed to drive a vehicle with a fifth wheel connection:
